The town of Lüderitz is the only town hosting the Honorary Consulate of Spain in the country, and welcomed His Excellency Alberto de la Calle, the Spanish Ambassador for the first time since his assumption of duties to the town. His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. B. Mckay welcomed the Ambassador, their deliberations were robust and topping their agenda was the ageing infrastructure and the educational institutional architecture. The Ambassador indicated that, the people of Spain are geared toward the modernization of the Namibian economy through value addition and Corporate Social Responsibility as their mantra and looks forward to cementing their already stable cooperative engagements, with a commitment of returning to the town and the Office of the Mayor with support.
