The ||Kharas Region currently accounts for ten (10) per cent of the total currency circulation in the country and Lüderitz makes up about six (6) per cent of that value, with the anticipation of further economic activity within the town; the Bank of Namibia [BON] is strategically positioning itself to be present within the economic zone. The move to undertake a preliminary feasibility and assessment within Lüderitz, is guided by BON’s vision of being closer to the people it serves, and Lüderitz is being mooted as the town within the ||Kharas Region, where BON will set-up their second branch; the other being located in Oshakati. The Lüderitz Town Council Technical team took BON on a site visit tour, where possible locations were identified for the erection of the BON Branch.
