The Minister of Urban and Rural Development Hon. Erastus Uutoni [M.P.], speaking at the occasion of the cooperation agreement signings held at a ceremony today in Windhoek [hosted by the City of Windhoek]; applauded the initiative as it ensures capacity within Local Authorities in pursuit of a common vision of an advanced and socio-economically thriving Namibia. The Lüderitz Town Council and the City of Windhoek renewed their cooperation agreement today at this ceremony; the identified areas of cooperation are; Human Resource and Capacity Building, Promotion of Tourism and Local Economic Development, Informal Settlement Management, Emergency and Fire Fighting, Community Development, Town Planning Management and will be valid for a period of five years. A total of sixteen {16} Local Authorities entered into renewed and new cooperative agreements with the City of Windhoek.
