Namibia highlights mental health particularly during the month of September themed as the suicide prevention and awareness month, this is done to raise awareness and bring forth a message of hope to those facing depression. The Ministry of Health and Social Services Social Worker Mr. Ian Pee Junior engaged Council staff on the importance of mental health; equally encouraging men to be comfortable with speaking about their personal and work-related problems. The Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Austin Mubiana reassured the staff that, their issues discussed with health professionals remains confidential and treated with the highest level of integrity and compassion, pleading with staff not to suppress their discomforts and seek help before its too late and that suicide is not an option.
