The envisaged project aims at changing the economic landscape of the town, through the injections of employment opportunities, contribution to the Gross Domestic Product and an addition to the revenue streams of the town. The current phase of the salmon factory is the feasibility studies and research and development being undertaken before commitments are cemented, this factory will add to the already earmarked salmon factories designated for the town, positioning Lüderitz as an aquaculture hotspot. BW Kudu, an entity that is currently engaged in the gas explorations in the Lüderitz Basin, under the leadership of Dr. Klaus Enderson; during working visit briefed His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Phillipus Balhao and the Council on the proposed venture.
