TOTALENERGIES COMMITTED TO GROW WITH LÜDERITZ

The growth and advancement of enterprises cannot be achieved without the dual empowerment of the communities in which such businesses operate, and this TotalEnergies EP Namibia has achieved through the direct and indirect hiring of more than 180 Namibians on the rigs, at the logistic base and at office.The energy company currently generates no revenue from its exercise’s but is embarking on strategic social investments with the aim of stimulating the local economy in the hope that, the locals will benefit from the spin-offs through sustainable environmental management, local business support and employment sustenance. TotalEnergies EP Namibia will enjoy 30% of their total global exploration budget pegged at N$ 5.7 Billion Namibian Dollars for the exploration and appraisal phase of the oil hunt in the Orange Basin located approximately 350 kilometer’s from Lüderitz, undertaken by TotalEnergies EP Namibia. The Managing Director of TotalEnergies EP Namibia Mr. Laurent Roché paid a courtesy visit to the Lüderitz Secondary School on the 13 February 2024 and engaged the First Servant, His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Phillippus A. Balhao, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Lüderitz Town Council Mr. Otto K. Shipanga and the School Board and viewed the progress on the renovations. This school project is co-funded by TotalEnergies EP Namibia and two of his main suppliers SLB and Logistics Supports Services to the tune of over N$ 600 000.00 expected to be completed within two months.
