Cllr. B. Mckay in his Mayoral acceptance speech during November 2022, reiterated that; Council is serious about the year 2023 being one of transformation through the upliftment of the people\u2019s standards of living. The transformation referred to was the; change in the town\u2019s economic landscape through enterprise development, job creation and socio-economic advancement. This statement rang true, when a site meeting was hosted jointly by the Council and the Shoprite retail outfit on the 31 October 2023 at the identified land where the retail giant will be erecting their shopping complex.
