The town of L\u00fcderitz boasting with exotic scenery and a rich maritime history, will be the host to the inaugural Diamond Coast Yacht Race between Port Owen, South Africa and L\u00fcderitz, Namibia starting on the 21st of March with the arriving in L\u00fcderitz anticipated as from the 23 to the 25 March 2024, with eight boats having signed-up for this journey. The team from the Yacht Club are in L\u00fcderitz on an exploratory and fact-finding mission and paid a courtesy call on the First Servant His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Phillippus A. Balhao and expressed their desires of courting the L\u00fcderitz Town Council to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding to further pursue tourism exchanges, amongst other twinning parameters.
