The town of L\u00fcderitz is facing dynamic changes to its landscape, economy and people\u2019s through the earmarked investments within its infrastructure. The growth and development prospects on the scale proposed being the first for Namibia, will require an \u201call-hands-on-deck\u201d approach and to this end Council has been engaged in deliberations with the City of Leipzig for possible collaboration. The City of Leipzig is known as a major industrial, intellectual and cultural centre in the Federal Republic of Germany, and is one of the largest industrial cities in East Germany, and boosts with having one of Europe\u2019s biggest terminals. The officials from the City are in L\u00fcderitz for a three (3) day working visit from the 23rd to the 25th October 2024, with the view of exchanging notes, ideas and best practices that can be embodied within the modes operandi of L\u00fcderitz as it readies itself for mega changes. The first day engagement centered around politicians and administrators present exchanging dialogue sessions, where presentations were the order of the day, for an in-depth understanding of where both partners are and how best they can collaborate. The working visit will continue on the 24 October 2024 with a stakeholder\u2019s engagement sessions, enabling all role players within the town and constituency to be involved and contribute to shaping the development trajectory of L\u00fcderitz. Accompanying the City of Leipzig visiting delegation is the Deutsche Gesselschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zumsammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) that is charged with managing the One Hundred Million Namibian Dollars grant donation from Federal Republic of Germany for the integrated industrialization planning of both L\u00fcderitz and Aus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
