
The cooperation agreement entered into between the City of Leipzig and the Lüderitz Town Council is yielding fruit, with the twinning partners currently engaging in a working exchange where strategies are being developed to turn Lüderitz into a smart and digitized town. The partners from Leipzig accompanied by GIZ Namibia together with the Lüderitz Council Councilors’ and Staff are in training and strategy design with the aim of ensuring that the town’s transition is expeditious and accommodative of the envisioned population and economic boom. The City of Leipzig team are sharing best practices obtained during the transformation of their city, through integrated urban development, an additional part of the activities during their working visit includes a Vulnerability Assessment to curb crime and make the town of Lüderitz a safer place to work and live in.
