COMMUNITY ELECTS BTPC

Housing is recognized as an important investment sector for creating capital formation and generating income and employment. Benefits are measured in terms of improved social and political ability, as well as human effectiveness and education and reduction in crime and juvenile delinquency. Council is in the planning phase of constructing houses under the Namibia Build Together National Housing Program, a key component of this Program is the establishment of the Build Together Program Committee[BTPC]. The Community elected its representatives during a free, fair and transparent process on the 04 September 2025 at the Benguela Community Hall. The task of the BTPC is to amongst others; identify communities and families in need of housing or housing improvement in their areas, assess particular problems of their community for remedial action and the mobilization of local resources in consultation with the Local Authority. The election process was witnessed by Hon. Cllr. Brigitte Fredericks, Hon. Cllr. Anna-Marie Hartzenberg, the Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Otto Shipanga and support staff.
