The GIZ Integrated Urban Development in Lüderitz and Aus (ILA) Project facilitated a community vulnerability mapping (VM) session in Area 7 on the 15th September 2025. The exercise brought together women, children, and other community members to spatially identify key safety concerns, including unsafe walking routes, poorly lit areas, safe spaces for children to play, and priority locations for floodlight installation. This participatory process provides valuable insights into the lived experiences of residents and forms the foundation for evidence-based planning. The outcomes will inform targeted interventions aimed at enhancing safety, accessibility, and inclusivity within Lüderitz, while strengthening collaboration between the community, local leaders, and the Lüderitz Town Council. Moving forward, the project team will convene focus group discussions with women from Area 7 and Amilema to further deepen the understanding of safety challenges and priorities
