
The Urban Guiding Vision Workshop that kickstarted in Lüderitz on the 28th October 2025, drew to a close with the achievements of significant milestones as the development partners inked a Memorandum of Understanding in Lüderitz on the 31st October 2025. This agreement will bring to the fore; the appointment of a Town Digitalization Expert in addition to the procurement of a first response fire vehicle (equipped bakkie) and fire fighting equipment. The collaboration framework further offers Technical and Vocational Training Support and a Student Exchange programme with the Benguela Community Skills and Development Centre, as part of the agreement. The Council during the same occasion, equally received a drone donation specifically built for aerial footage for incorporation into its GIS Platform. This partnership is made possible through the project “Experts Fund for Municipal Partnerships Worldwide” (FKPW), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in partnership with Engagement Global and its Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW).
