BT RESUMES AFTER HIATUS

Posted: 13 Jan 2026

The Build Together Programme under the auspices of Council has resumed operations following its last implementation in 2018/2019. Through its Housing Development Strategy, Council aims to transform the Single Quarters and the Compound into dignified residential areas comprising decent family housing units. To achieve this objective, Council has engaged the Government of the Republic of Namibia for financial support. In response, Government has allocated an amount of N$1.2 million to Council for the construction of 15 low-cost housing units, with a maximum cost of N$80,000 per unit. An information-sharing meeting was held on 12 January 2026 in the Council Chambers with shortlisted beneficiaries to outline the application process, qualification criteria, and other relevant details. The housing units are open to first-time homebuyers who are permanent residents of Lüderitz and earn a monthly income not exceeding N$6,000. The application window remains open until Friday, 16 January 2026. Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Council’s Property Division for registration and further assistance.
