The Gibeon Village Council is currently on a benchmarking and fact finding working visit to Lüderitz and paid Council a call as part of their itinerary. The delegation lead by Deputy Chairperson Hon. Cllr. Hans Hangue held a meeting with Council on the 20 April 2026. The GVC team was hosted by Her Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Brigitte I. Fredericks accompanied by members from Council, as deliberations centred around forming a twinning partnership between the two Local Authorities that would bring to fruition long held ambitions from GVC to implement a turn-around strategy. The leadership further exchanged developmental concepts that aim at unlocking private capital into the economy of Gibeon; aimed at unlocking the Village’s potential, the deliberations concluded with commitments to bring to life the envisaged partnership.
