In terms of the Local Authorities Act 23 of 1992 (as amended), Section 25, Sub-Section 2, the Lüderitz Town Council held its annual elections and swearing-in ceremony of the Lüderitz Local Authority Councilors’ on Tuesday, 08 November 2022, presided over by the Principal Magistrate Leonard Mateus, as per Section 12, Sub-Section 1 of the said Act. The following Councilors’ were elected as follows; Chairperson of Council His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Benjamin Ronnie Mckay, Deputy Chairperson of Council Her Worship, the Deputy Mayor Hon. Cllr. Brigitte Ingrid Fredericks, Chairperson of the Management Committee Hon. Cllr. Phillipus Albertus Balhao, Members of the Management Committee Hon. Cllr. Albertina Ndeshikeya and Hon. Cllr. Anna-Marie Hartzenberg respectively and Members of the Council Hon. Cllr. Johannes Abraham and Hon. Cllr. Josephine K. K. Heita.
