In line with the mandate tasked to Council, in accordance to the Local Authorities Act 23 of 1992 (as amended), and in response thereto the need for value addition on the townland road network enjoyed priority by the Council leadership. This resulted in the acquisition of a brand-new water truck at a total cost of One Million Nine Hundred Thousand Namibian Dollars [N$ 1 900 000.00] to service and maintain the road network, Lüderitz has approximately fifty [50] kilometer’s of road network, of which seven [7] kilometer’s are tarred or interlocked; resulting in gravel roads of approximately forty-three [43] kilometer’s.
