The high demand from emerging industries for infrastructure from both the Namibia Ports Authority [NAMPORT] and the Lüderitz Town Council [LTC] are being addressed. The Chief Executive Officer of NAMPORT Mr. Andrew Kanime and his Executive Management team briefed His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. B. Mckay and the Council Administrative team on the readiness to cater for the operations of investors flocking to the town of Lüderitz. NAMPORT further indicated that; their Master Plan last developed in 2010 has been revised and will soon be officially released; this plan makes provision for the deepening of the current harbor with eyes on another harbor being built at Angra Point. NAMPORT further indicated that, public engagements will be hosted with the Lüderitz community for the upgrade of the wooden jetty. The LTC indicated that, its leadership is desirous in ensuring that the town of Lüderitz becomes the base of operations for the hydrogen, oil and gas industry and that LTC is positioning itself to accord these services to the industries, through the gradual capacity development of the town’s infrastructure.
