The anticipated economic and trade boom, coupled with Chevron Oil Namibia Limited’s oil and gas exploration in the Orange Basin has the United States of America taking an interest in the soon-to-be energy capital and industrial hub of Namibia known as Lüderitz. The Economic and Commercial Officer Mr. Geoff Kepgh and the Economic and Commercial Specialist Mr. Buthi Hambira joined by Security Special Agent Mr. Derek Hirons, paid a courtesy call on the Lüderitz Town Council and were received by Her Worship, the Deputy Mayor Hon. Cllr. Brigitte Fredericks at Council Headquarters today. The courtesy call was to brief the Deputy Mayor on the intention of Chevron Oil Namibia Limited to establish an operational base in the town, further notifying Council of their pursuit of joint socio-economic ventures and collaboration moving forward.
