The weather occurrence of a strong wind coupled with the moving desert sand, did not deter community members to show up the morning of the 16th September 2023 for the World Clean Up Campaign, held in Amilema and Area Seven (7). Leading the parade from the front were The Deputy Mayor, Her Worship, Hon. Cllr. Brigitte Fredericks and the !Nami #Nus Constituency Cllr. Hon. Suzan Ndjaleka, supported by the Hon. Cllr’s Johannes Abraham and Josephine Heita. The leaders, encouraged the community to not only clean the town at set days, however to make this a sustained engagement that is a part of their lifestyle. It is estimated that the team members were able to gather in excess of a One Hundred (100) kilograms of litter, as we discourage the community from littering in our efforts of keeping our town clean.
