The economic and trade boom anticipated for the town of Lüderitz and by extension the ||Kharas Region and the country, boasts of a glorious future for Namibia’s pursuit of industrialization and her people’s prosperity. His Excellency Zhao Weiping, the Ambassador of China and his delegation engaged Council on a working visit to Lüderitz on the 30 October 2023, the aim of the visit was to impress upon Council the desire of China to play a key role in developing the towns infrastructure and assisting Council to be oil, gas and clean energy ready. The Ambassador further informed that, China is positioned to aid Council in their strategic goals and mooted for the entering into of a Cooperation Agreement between China and the Lüderitz Town Council, that could equally open avenues for the possible financing of the town’s capital projects.
