SITE HANDED OVER FOR SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION

Primary educational edification being crucial toward the attainment of a developing and industrialized country, the Government of the Republic of Namibia has responded proactively through the allocation of land for the construction of the ǃNamiǂNûs Primary School. The construction is as a result of the influx of people into town and the current primary schools having reached capacity, with a total of approximately 2 630 students being accommodated at Diaz, Helene Van Rhijn and the Nautilus Primary Schools respectively. The school will have 15-20 classes and accommodate 500 learners with an average of 35 students per class, upon completion. Phase One will target to construct 5 medium-sized classrooms, earmarked to kickstart immediately with June 2024 being the completion date for this phase. The construction will be managed by August Twenty Six Construction [PTY] LTD and will employ 15-30 locals, the envisaged school will be located next to the Lüderitz Sports Stadium and the ǃNamiǂNûs Constituency Office, and has been 11 years in the making. Speaking at the hand-over the ǃNamiǂNûs Constituency Councilor Hon. Suzan Ndjaleka said that, ‘that Government’s commitment is real in prioritizing education and that more partners must come on board’.
