The bilateral relationship between Germany and Namibia, sets the tone for the partnership and cooperation between the two countries that witnessed the exchange of technical and financial aid and support over the past thirty-four years. The Ambassador of Germany His Excellency Dr. Thorsten Hutter engaged Council during a working visit on the 26 March 2024, with the intention to learn and better understand the vision of the town and how best Germany can further assist in helping Lüderitz reach its desired milestones. The Ambassador indicated to the audience that, the Green Hydrogen Project was not a German government initiative, rather that it was privately driven, with the government providing political support to ensure the projects realization. The deliberations included a technical presentation to the Ambassador detailing the roadmap of the development trajectory of the town, where robust discussions were held between the parties that ended fruitfully. The Ambassador was received by Her Worship, the Deputy Mayor Hon. Cllr. Brigitte Fredericks and the Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Otto K. Shipanga and joining the meeting was the ǃNami ǂNûs Constituency Councilor Hon. Suzan Ndjaleka; where a gift in the form of a boat replica was handed over to the Chief Guest.
