DARE TO DREAM

The anticipated industrial and population boom due to the discovery of natural resources in the form of oil, gas and renewable energy at industrial scale for the town of Lüderitz, has an impactful implication on the Gross Domestic Product of Namibia and could propel the constituency, region and country into becoming an economic powerhouse. The Head of State and President of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Dr. Nangolo Mbumba engaged the Lüderitz Town Council and Local Stakeholders on the 05 April 2024 in Lüderitz, to analyze the readiness of the town’s management to cater for the growing demand for land and resolve the differences experienced for the beneficiation of the community. The current total land size of Lüderitz is approximately 11 000 hectares and we are desirous to acquire 290 000 hectares in application, to be able to cater to the commercialization and exploration of these natural resources. The President in response to the technical presentation, encouraged the Town Council team with the following words; “If you have ideas, dare to do them and dare to dream” and concluded echoing the sentiments that, political differences should not hinder national development and that we should not undermine the positions of others and implored the leadership to employ collective collaboration. The President was accompanied by the Minister of Justice Hon. Ivonne Dausab [M.P.]; the Director-General of the National Planning Commission Hon. Obeth Kandjoze [M.P.]; the ||Kharas Regional Governor Hon. Aletha Fredericks and Presidential Advisors during his visit to the town.
