Hailing from the rocky streets of Lüderitz, with a desire to plough back into the community that raised him, popular businessman, philanthropist and influencer Mr. Desmond Birdy Shipanga; met the First Servant His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Phillippus Balhao during a brief stopover at the Council on the 25 April 2024. Mr. Shipanga is in town to promote and set-up his entertainment enterprise, that will witness events of international magnitude being brought to town, having recently successfully hosted the Amapiano Festival in Windhoek on the 13 April 2024, that saw South African star Kabza de Small keeping Namibian’s grooving to the electrifying tunes. The businessman took the opportunity and extended his support to the Council and the Mayor, and indicated that the Mayor is doing a stellar job as he is the right man for the job of transforming the socio-economic landscape of the town. The businessman and the Mayor agreed to work together in raising the bar of the town through enhancing the town’s tourism appeal.
