COMMUNICATIONS GIANT DESIRES LOCAL PARTNERSHIP

The growth and development prospects of Lüderitz remains heavily reliant on the availability of advanced and reliant telecommunications, in particular with the age of digital automation and global communications. The Lüderitz Town Council intends on extending the towns boundaries 80 km’s eastward from the current townlands to occupy 290 000 hectares, these new township localities will require voice and data connectivity. The Mobile Telecommunications Limited, being the largest telecommunications company in Namibia; remains desirous in being a development partner with the local authority in offering services related to its core mandate and Corporate Social Responsibility. A team from the telecommunications giant met with Council on the 13 June 2024 in Lüderitz and were updated on our development agenda and expansion plans, the meeting concluded with a formal Memorandum of Understanding being mooted between the two parties to enhance cooperation.
